Aosta Beatrice (Shatzer) Light

Beatrice Light, 90, of 5514 Ganges Five Points Rd. Shelby, died at 4:50 A.M. this morning at Shelby
Memorial Hospital. She was born December 24,1900 in Olivesburg, Ohio, the daughter of John and Missouri (Cline) Shatzer.

Mrs. Light had been a practical nurse at the former People’s Sanatarium in Mansfield. She had been an active volunteer at the Friendly House, teaching sewing for a number of years. She was a member of the Ganges Community United Chucch of Christ, Angelus Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star 1320 in Shiloh, Daughters of Union Veterans, and was one of the original founders of the Ganges Garden Club.

She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: Don and Helen Light of Shelby, and Haldan Light of Atlanta Georgia. Three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roscoe Shatzer of Oregon, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Light in 1975, and a sister Gladys Hackett.

Calling Hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M at the Turner Funeral Home, where funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:30 A.M. by her Pastor, Rev. Harley Holden. Burial will be in Ganges Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ganges Community United Church of Christ and left in care of the funeral home.
