Anthony P. Arcudi

Services for Anthony P. Arcudi, 77, of 52 Grove Avenue, who died Monday, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph Szybka.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military rites by the Shelby American Legion. Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home where wake services will be conducted at 8:30 p.m.

Born August 15, 1912, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Sam and Virginia Smarto Arcudi. Before becoming head of the maintenance department at Shelby Memorial Hospital, he worked at Wilkins Air Force Depot and Pennsylvania Railroad. Mr. Arcudi was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Shelby Owls Club and a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.

Surviving are his wife, Madeline Foti Arcudi; three daughters, Sandra Grose of Rock Hill, SC, Virginia Venendaal of Utica, MI, and Mary Jo Fry of Shelby; a son, Anthony C. Arcudi of Annapolis, MD; five grandchildren; two brothers, Patrick Arcudi of Cleveland and John Arcudi of Mansfield; four sisters, Concetta Christini and Lillian Cox, both of Crestline, Ethel Morgan of Gambier and Ann Payne of Shelby. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church through the funeral home.
