Anna J. (Hannafius) Brissell

Anna J. Brissell, age 96 , formerly of 55 W. Tucker Avenue, Shelby died early this morning in the Crestwwod Care Center after a lingering illness. She was born July 8, 1891 in Richland County the daughter of William, and Susan (Smith) Hannafius.

Mrs. Brissell is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. William (Bette) Fetters of Mt. Vernon; her daughter-in-law, Cleo Brissell, of Shelby; 3 grandaughters and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Brissell in 1965 and 1 son William Brissell in 1983. She was the last survivor of 16 children.

Mrs. Brissell was a former employee of Auburn School Cafeteria. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Half-Holiday Club, the Daughters of Union Veterans and Navy Mothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with her pastor the Rev. J. Malcolm Brook officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Memorial expressions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church and left at the funeral home.
