Altheus Edwin “Ed” McClead

A.E. “Ed” McClead, age 85, of 1107 Myers Road, Mansfield, died Saturday evening in Southview Hospital in Centerville, Ohio after an extened illness. He was born February 24, 1907 in Athens, Ohio, the son of John and Zenia (LeFavor) McClead.

Mr. McClead was an electrical engineer at Westinghouse in Mansfield and Philco-Ford in Connersville, Indiana. He had attended Clay Memorial Lutheran Church and was a member of Frank H. Marquis Lodge 690 F and AM in Mansfield and he had attended Ohio University in Athens.

He is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Benita and Ronald Kehl of Bellbrook, Ohio; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Maria McClead of Chicago, Illinois; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Ralph McClead of Mansfield.

He was preceeded in death by his wife, Leah (Hunter) McCLead; 8 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert S. Garnes, Jr., officiating. Calling hours will be from 9:00 A.M. untill the time of the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Bethel Cemetery, Ames Township, Athens County, Ohio.

Memorial expressions may be made to the American Heart Association and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
