Altha L. (LaMoreaux) Greenslade

Altha L. Greenslade, age 92, formerly of Wilson Avenue died Monday afternoon in the Crestwood Care Center after an extended illness. She was born August 28, 1896 in Wayne, Michigan, the daughter of Albert and Nancy (Delaney) LaMoreaux. She had been a Shelby resident for 50 years.

Mrs. Greenslade is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. Jeannette Goodman of Holbrook, Arizona; and 1 daughter-in-law, Mrs. Shirley Greenslade of Ontario; 6 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert J. Greenslade, Sr. in 1980; by her son Albert J. Greenslade, Jr. in 1985; and by 1 brother.

Mrs. Greenslade was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church, the sewing circle at the church, Rizpah Chapter #153 Order Of the Eastern Star, the Navy Mother’s Club, and the Shelby Hospital Guild.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Oakland Cemetery by her pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl G. Beighley, officiating. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial expressions may be made to the Shelby Public Health League and left at the Turner Funeral Home which is in charge of the arrangements.
