Alma W. (Wagner) Richards

Former Shelby resident Alma W. Richards, 92, formerly of 350 W. Main St., died Sunday afternoon in the Good Shephard Hospital in Barrington, IL, after a short illness.

Born Feb. 26, 1898, in Massillon, Ohio, to Frederick and Katherine (Schweyer) Wagner. She was a homemaker. She moved from Cleveland to Shelby in 1937. She belonged to the First Lutheran Church in Shelby, the church’s Priscilla Circle, the First Patron Mothers Club, Golden Agers and the AARP.

Survivors include two sons: Evan Richards of Barrington Hills, IL, and Alan Richards of Lynchburg, VA; one daughter: Gwynne Cook of Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren; and 5
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl B. Richards, in 1969.

Calling hours are Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home. Graveside services, to be at Oakland Cemetery following the calling hours Thursday, will be by the Rev. Carl Johnson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
