Allan D. Miller
Allan D. Miller, 35, of 42 Bradley Ave., who had been missing from the Massillon Psychiatric Center in Massillon since Nov. 21, was found dead on the hospital grounds on Thursday morning, Dec. 3, 1992.
The Stark County Coroner is investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Mr. Miller was born July 19, 1957, in Pittsburgh, and had lived in Shelby since 1958.
He was a former employee of the Firestone Warehouse in Shelby, and the Giant Eagle grocery store, and various restaurants in the Pittsburgh area.
He was a 1975 graduate of Shelby High School and had attended the Bell & Howell Tech School in Columbus and Community College South Campus in Pittsburgh.
He is survived by his mother, Genevieve J. (Matisic) Miller of Shelby; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Patricia Miller of Morgantown, WV, and Donna and Richard Shutts of LaJunta, CO; a niece, Michaela Shutts; and a nephew, Jack Shutts; his maternal grandmother, Mary Matisic of Pittsburgh; and an aunt and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael E. Miller, who died in 1991.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Center for Individual and Family Services in Mansfield by the Rev. John C. Missler, pastor of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clairton, PA at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emergency Services Unit of the Center for Individual and Family Services and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
