Alfred L. Monn
Alfred L. Monn, age 61 of 603 Maplecrest Drive, Troy, Ohio, and formerly of Shelby, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy after suffering an apparent heart attack at work.
AI was born July 23, 1939 in Shelby and was a 1957 graduate of Shelby High School where he played football and ran track. He worked for Tech Form Industries in Shelby for over 20 years until its closing. For the last 10 years he was tube mill supervisor at AP Automotive System in Troy. He also farmed for Mark Rietschlin in Shelby.
He is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Alfred II and Rachel Monn of Ontario; Bob and Vannesa Monn of Turlock, CA; Chuck Monn of Modesto, CA; a daughter and son-in-law: Tressa and Christopher Britt of Galion; 9 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; his mother, Erma (Kleinknecht) Monn of Shelby; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Clara Monn of Crestline; 2
sisters and a brother-in-law: Carol Moorhead and Arlene and Vernon Burks all of Shelby; special friends, the Mark Rietschlin family and Mike Swabb.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Monn, and his beloved wife, Patricia (Martin) Monn on June 20, 1999.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 3-5 and 7 -9 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street in Shelby where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM with Luena Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Papaw I know its been almost 14 years since you been gone but there isnt a day that goes by that I dont think of you and mamaw 🙁 I miss you guys like crazy I still cry all the time and wish you guys were still here I wish you could meet my 2 beautiful babies even though I know you have already met them in heaven I love you so much papaw rest in paradise <3
